I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 15 years experience as a school-based clinician. Like you, I have dealt with the frustration of navigating a complex educational system. I experienced burnout due to the overwhelming mental health needs of students. I know the struggle of administrators not quite understanding what exactly it is that we do.
But I have witnessed the value of providing mental health support in school. As school-based clinicians, we break down barriers to treatment like stigma, cost, and long waiting lists to provide children with the support they need to succeed.
